Sprint, the struggling carrier that acquired Nextel rear in 2005, today announced the Motorola CPEi25150 4G Desktop Modem, that provide in-home wireless internet for customers through Sprint’s 4G WiMAX services. According to Sprint, its 4G WiMAX supports up to 6Mbps downstream and is 10 times faster than 3G services with the understanding by competitors, such as AT&T Wireless, and Verizon Wireless.
Since Sprint’s WiMAX services locations are limited, it can be used for volatile professionals. Hence, Sprint would have to fight with other Internet service providers that provide home Internet at speed close to or faster than its WiMAX services.
The Sprint 4G Desktop Modem is available for $99.99 with a two-year subscription and instant rebate.
